SOFRECO is working on a European Union project to rehabilitate the electrical transmission and distribution grid in the province of Lusaka, Zambia. In this perspective, we are searching for an outstanding quantity surveyor to work on the reparation and expansion of low voltage distribution networks (63,000 new connections in ten high density low income areas).

Qualifications and skills:
A University degree in quantity surveying or other relevant technical qualification of at least three (3) years is required. A relevant postgraduate degree will be an advantage.
General Professional experience:
At least 10 years of relevant experience in infrastructure projects (minimum requirement). Experience in working with design and construction of Medium Voltage and Low Voltage overhead distribution lines is desirable.
Specific professional experience:
- Experience in all the following: preparation of detailed Bill of Quantities, cost estimating and control, preparation of payment applications, certification of construction work, preparation of final statement of accounts, in at least three (3) energy projects with a cumulative value of not less than EUR 10 million experience in energy projects with a large Medium Voltage and Low Voltage overhead distribution lines component will be a definite advantage.
- Experience in at least one (1) project financed by international organisations/ institutions will be an advantage
- Experience in developing countries in Sub-Sahara Africa region will be an advantage.
